FAQs

How Do I Register for a Show?

Each Show Promoter should have a website, like this one, that has all the details about their shows listed. Please remember, you will ALSO need to pay for an Association Membership. For our shows, you will need to purchase your NPC Card which allows you to participate in any NPC for the calendar year. This is a separate fee from your Registration Fees.

Can I compete in more than one Class/Division?

Yes, and if you are registering for the show AND want to compete in more than one class (Open, Masters, Novice), you need to pay your registration fee, plus the fee (called a Crossover Fee) for the additional class. If you'd like to compete in say Bodybuilding and Physique, NPC rules state that you can, you just have to pay the fees for both Divisions and whichever classes you're registering for.

Where can we sit backstage?

At our shows, you will likely be in a hallway. Bring a chair, one of those camping fold up ones will be more comfortable than the floor. It's a LONG day.

Do I wear my suit to the weigh in?

Bodybuilding and Classic Physique must weigh in with their suits on.

Do I have to check in on Friday Night?

Yes. Per NPC Rules, there are no Saturday check-ins. If you have an emergency, please contact us and we will see how we can help.

How do I buy my NPC card?

You can purchase your NPC card during Friday night check-ins, but you can also purchase earlier at NPC NEWS ONLINE. You will NOT get a paper membership card. Your card is digital. It’s best to take a photo of it and save it to your favorites on your phone.

Do competitors get discounts on show tickets?

If you are competing, you do not need a ticket to the show. Friends and family who are coming to the show do need tickets and there are no discounts on those tickets.

Open to the public means what?

Any one is welcome to attend the event with purchased tickets. This is not just for your family and friends!

Can we check-in anytime between 5-7 on Friday or do we have to be there at 5 and stay until 7?

Check-in starts at 5 and remains open till 7 - once you are checked in you are done until the competitors meeting in the am. It should take you no more than 10 min to check in, depending on the line waiting.

When do we get the itinerary for when each division goes on stage?

Even though this is our X# show, even I can't give you an estimate on what times each class goes on stage. Currently, there are no set 'times' each class will take the stage. The shows move quickly so you will want to listen to the expediters so you don't miss your call outs. If you are somewhere other than where they've asked you to be, you run the risk of not hearing them call your class and number.

I can't compete. Can I get a refund?

Per the NPC, there are NO refunds on registrations or tickets.  If you can no longer compete please contact us, as we may be able to roll your registration over to another one of our shows in the current calendar year.

Who is the Tanning Sponsor & do I have to Tan with Them?

Tanning Sponsors will be listed on the main page as well as included in all of our correspondence with competitors. It is highly recommended that you use the Tanning Sponsor as they have years of experience in tanning for the competition stage.

Please note: Tanning is not part of your registration package. Tanning is run by a completely separate company for competitors.

What should I wear to my tanning appointment?

You should wear dark, loose clothes to your spray tan appointment; however, do not wear RED shirts/pants after you've been spray tanned...it can turn your tan green.

Can I have my own tanning person backstage?

No. We have an official tanning sponsor, and it is recommended you book your appointment early with them. If you are caught spray tanning in the building with anyone other than the tanning sponsor, you will forfeit your registration fees, competing and owe any monies to the school to repair any damage. If you are using Dream Tan or some other hand applied tan, please make sure you are ON the tarps/paper areas that have been laid out for these purposes.

What are we allowed to bring to pump up before our class goes on?

Per NPC rules, no weights are allowed at our venues. You can bring bands to use!

Is there a dressing room for the ladies?

Not at our show. It is recommended that you arrive on show day ready to step on stage. There are restrooms and you are more than welcome to bring your own mirrors.

Where will we be waiting backstage?

As our venue is a high school, you will be stage in the hallways. The floor can get very cold. You can bring a camping chair or a towel/blanket to sit on.

Can I have a friend/coach/family member backstage with me?

Yes, on two conditions.  One - they must buy a packstage pass.  Two - they must also have a current NPC Card, even if they aren't competing.  This is to comply with all insurance policies and to keep everyone backstage safe.

Is there a fee for parking?

No fees for parking. And please, do not park in the bus tunnel at the school. The Fire Department will tow vehicles left in the tunnel.
