MMVANPC – LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & DISCIPLINARY RELEASE
Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Disciplinary Release Agreement
In consideration of being permitted to participate in any manner in any MMVANPC (Mid-Atlantic Muscle & Physique / NPC) sanctioned bodybuilding, fitness, physique, or related event (each an “Event”), promoted by MMVANPC / Strength & Grace Fitness & Promotions (the “Promoter”) and sanctioned by the National Physique Committee (“NPC”) and/or NPC Worldwide, including all related activities, venues, travel, and associated events, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, understand, and agree as follows:
1. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in bodybuilding and physique competitions and related activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Physical injury (minor or severe)
- Illness or communicable diseases
- Permanent disability, paralysis, or death
- Property loss or damage
I acknowledge that these risks may arise from my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others, equipment, facilities, venue conditions, travel to and from the Event, or the negligence of the Promoter, NPC, NPC Worldwide, or others.
I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.
2. Release and Indemnification
I hereby release, waive, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless:
- MMVANPC
- Strength & Grace Fitness & Promotions
- NPC and NPC Worldwide
- Event promoters, officials, judges, staff, volunteers
- Sponsors, advertisers, vendors
- Venue owners, operators, and lessors
(collectively, the “Releasees”)
from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, injuries, disabilities, death, or property damage, whether arising from negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law, arising out of or related to my participation in any MMVANPC Event.
3. Compliance with Rules and Conduct
I agree to:
- Comply with all NPC and/or NPC Worldwide rules and regulations, including judging and competition standards (as found at: https://www.npcnewsonline.com/rules)
- Accept all decisions of event judges and promoters as final
- Conduct myself in a professional, respectful, and sportsmanlike manner
I understand that failure to comply with event rules, venue rules, hotel rules, or standards of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to disqualification, suspension, expulsion, or loss of NPC membership.
4. Venue and Hotel Rules
I agree to comply with all rules of any venue or hotel associated with an MMVANPC Event, including but not limited to:
- Prohibitions on food preparation or cooking in hotel rooms
- Damage to rooms or facilities
I accept responsibility for any damages caused by me and agree to indemnify the Promoter, NPC, and/or NPC Worldwide for any such damages.
5. Tanning Policy
I understand and agree that no tanning products, oils, or glaze may be brought into the venue unless otherwise specified.
Only the official, insured on-site tanning provider is permitted.
6. Media Release
I hereby grant MMVANPC, NPC, NPC Worldwide, the Promoter, and their assigns the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to photograph, record, reproduce, distribute, broadcast, and otherwise use my name, image, likeness, voice, and appearance in any media now known or later developed, including but not limited to:
- Photography
- Video
- Livestreams
- Advertising
- Social media
- Promotional and merchandising materials
I understand that no compensation will be provided for such use.
7. No Refund Policy
I acknowledge and agree that all registration fees and purchases are non-refundable, in whole or in part, under any circumstances.
8. Special Needs Disclosure
If I have any special needs or accommodations, I agree to notify the Event Promoter in advance so reasonable accommodations may be considered.
9. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
I acknowledge that:
- I have read and fully understand this Agreement
- I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights
- I am signing this Agreement freely and voluntarily
- This Agreement applies to all MMVANPC events, present and future
