Hooked on building a better body, we welcome Lisa M. Jones to the Max Muscle NPC VA Classic blog interviews.

Where do you train?       Gold’s Gym, Annandale, Va
Weight On Season         118lbs-120lbs
Weight Off Season          125lbs – 130lbs

What got you started in health and fitness?

I was already going to Bally’s….mainly to stayed toned. I met a woman there who was into bodybuilding. She happened to ask if I’d like to train with her….I was hooked!

What prompted you to want to step on stage?

Shortly after I started training seriously, I became seriously ill and was out of the gym for the better part of 5 years. There was a time when I wondered if I’d ever be able to train again. Once I got the OK,  I started back very slowly. I later joined Gold’s. A few of the Gold’s regulars started hinting that I should consider competing since I “trained like it anyway.” It literally took 10 years for me to get up the nerve. My first show was the first Max Muscle in 2011.

Have you competed before the recent MM NPC VA Classic? If so, where and when?

I did the first one in 2011….and returned again this year, 2013.

Are you going to compete again? Have you already decided on a show or shows?

I am looking at an NGA show in Annapolis on June 2nd.

What’s your favorite body part to train? Least favorite?

Favorite….back and abs. Least favorite has be legs….but I am disliking it less!!!!

Do you have a consistent playlist for when you’re working out?

If I can dance to it…I train to it!!

Right Triceps

Favorite cheat meal?

Fuddruckers buffalo burger w/ sweet potato fries. Followed by a visit to Sweet Frog.

Do you have a strong support network for your training and nutrition planning?

I’ve met a ton of people over the last few years who have been incredibly supportive.

What do you do for a living? How does your training and nutrition work around that?

I’m a liability claims supervisor. It’s hectic and makes for some pretty long days. I have to train after work. I bring my meals and supply of protein powder to work.

How can people find you?
