LA Fitness Manassas

Weight On Season: 128-135
Weight Off Season: 145-150
Division(s) You Compete In: Women’s Physique

What got you started in health & fitness?
The United States Navy got me started in health & fitness. I first started running and loved it. I was always naturally strong no weight lifting came 2nd nature to me. The more I noticed what healthy eating and working out does for me mentally, physically and professional I was hooked!

What prompted you to want to step on stage?
Pure and simple. I love to lift! I love being strong and pushing myself harder than ever has so many rewards in its self. It was not until someone approached me in the gym and said, “do you compete”? Of course my answer was no, but then started thinking, well why not me? So I hired a coach and began my first prep many years ago. I am Nationally qualified and of course hope for that pro card. It’s more work than I ever thought possible!! But I love it!

Which show was your first show? How many times have you competed since then? Where?
NGA Mt Rogers was my first show. I have probably competed 12 times since.

Are you going to compete again? If so, which shows are you targeting?
Yes I am competing in the Universe on June 30-July 1 then taking a year or more off.

What’s your favorite body part to train? What exercises?
I love training back. High and low rows and lat pullldowns

What’s your LEAST favorite body part to train? What exercises?
Legs! Because it just wears me out! But always get it done.

Do you have a consistent playlist for when you’re working out? Any favorites to get you motivated?
It depends on my mood. I primarily listen to Pandora. Rock or Rap.

Favorite cheat meal? Go to food?
Pizza pizza pizza

Favorite clean eating meal? Recipe?
I love sweet potato protein pancakes!

Do you have a strong support network in place?
Yes my family, friends and my team of competitors.

What do you do for a living? How does your training and nutrition work around that?
I am the Safe Routes To School Coordinator for PWC public schools. I only work part time so can always get my workouts in. I am also a retired PWV Firefighter
