Weight Off Season. 171What got you started in health and fitness?
As a kid growing up , I was always the athletic/competitive type. My father introduced baseball and football to me at a young age and I fell in love with those 2 sports. I feel like mainly for the competitiveness it was and it gave me a drive to be the best one out there on the field. But my true I truly had a passion for wasn’t discovered until 8th grade- Wrestling. Wrestling seemed to give me a challenge and was by far the hardest mentally/physically sport I was involved in and I loved it! I wrestled for 6 years, 4 of those on Varsity for Powhatan High School. Wrestling really taught me discipline- on and off the mat. Then is when I was introduced a little to nutrition and proper dieting to maintain my weight to wrestle the weight class I wanted to. Throughout wrestling in high school, I began to hit the weights and wanted to gain size and be the biggest and strongest competitor in my weight class. Ever since then, I took my workouts seriously and really concentrated on my self image.
What prompted you to want to step on stage?
I guess you would consider myself a “gym junkie” . I was almost in the gym every day of the week, whether it was weight training or cardio, I was constantly training. I had a lot of people ask me if I ever competed and if I ever considered it. I began to do research and found someone to help me with poses and somebody to take my nutrition to the next level. If it wasn’t for the people asking me if I competed and telling me I looked like I did, I probably never would have given it thought.

Have you competed before the recent MM NPC VA Classic? If so, where and when?
I competed in the 2013 NPC Lenda Murray in Hampton, VA where I entered as a Physique Competitor snd took first in the short class (Class A) . Three weeks after, I decided to compete in the MM VA/DC state Championships in Norfolk VA. I competed in the teen division and also placed first in my class. This wrapped up the end for the year, winning my two first shows. Are you going to compete again? Have you already decided on a show or shows?
Yes. I plan on competing next year. I am taking the rest of the year off to bulk and gain more size. I plan on competing once in the spring and then prepare for Jr. Nationals depending on how well I do in the spring. What’s your favorite body part to train? Least favorite?
If I had to chose my favorite muscle to train , I would have to say it would be shoulders. Least would be a tie between hamstring and calves.Do you have a consistent playlist for when you’re working out?
My playlist is always changing and never ending … PANDORA. Pandora had a station called “Hard Rock Strength Training”. I haven’t heard a song yet on that station that doesn’t get me pumped or motivated.Favorite cheat meal?
Chicken AlfredoDo you have a strong support network for your training and nutrition planning?
My family supports me as well as my peers. They are always supporting me and building me up, especially when dieting down really takes it’s till on my body. What do you do for a living? How does your training and nutrition work around that?
I work at the gym I train at, which Is very convenient. I prepare my food for the week every Sunday. I am fortunate enough work at the gym I train at and employers/ supervisors that understand the discipline it takes in the sport of bodybuilding who support me 100%
