What got you started in health and fitness?
I was a group exercise instructor for years, and after having my first child I decided I needed more. I wanted to get my body in the best shape that it has ever been in, and prove to myself that mommies can be in great shape.
What prompted you to want to step on stage?
I had a friend in Hawaii introduce me to the sport, and I was hooked! I knew right then that someday I was going to compete in show. I was drawn to it so much because it’s not something that everyone does, and it takes work that only I can do. Nobody can get the results for me except for myself, and I told myself that I would get results no matter what.
Have you competed before the recent MM NPC VA Classic? If so, where and when?
Max Muscle was my very first show, and I had a blast. I have a lot of improving to so, but I will be getting some work done in the off season and so when I step on stage again I know I’ll be better than before!
Are you going to compete again? Have you already decided on a show or shows?
Yes, I am going to compete again, and I already have a show in mind:) I am will be back on stage in that later part of this year!
What’s your favorite body part to train? Least favorite?
I love to work Shoulders:) I am least fond of chest days.
Do you have a consistent playlist for when you’re working out?
Yes and No- I’m all over the place when it comes to my music. I skim through multiple playlists.
Favorite cheat meal?
Anything Red Velvet, and Mexican:)
Do you have a strong support network for your training and nutrition planning?
Yes, my family and Hubby are my support system when I prep. They are just plain AWESOME!!
What do you do for a living? How does your training and nutrition work around that?
I am a mommy of a 2 year old, a wife to a police officer, and I work M-F as HR coordinator. My job makes it hard to get training in so get up at 3am so I can bust the doors at the gym open at 4am. My nutrition doesn’t get affected much as I am able to eat my meals the way I need to throughout the day. I will say my nutrition is rubbing off on my coworkers as they are all starting to watch what they eat:)
