What got you started in health and fitness?
Growing up I have always been a provider for my family, giving endless hours to everyone else and their hopes for me. I never ever did anything for myself. In 2011 Jr year in College, I began to lift weights as a means to relieve everyday stress. I began to read magazines, and my now wife, but fiancé then, accompanied me to a bodybuilding show, and I said I can do that. She agreed and so goes the history.
Have you competed before the recent MM NPC VA Classic? If so, where and when?
I did my first show Nov 2nd 2011 it was the Quincy Robert’s Elite Muscle Classic, and I placed 3rd Open Bantam. Since then I have competed now a total of seven times:
2012 NY Metropolitan Championship- 2nd place Bantam
2012 Max Muscle VA- 2nd place Lightweight
2012 VA Grand Prix- 1st place Lightweight
2012 Nationals Championships- 9th Place Bantam
2013 Arnold Classic Amateur-8th place Lightweight
2013 Max Muscle VA- 1st Place Lightweight
I know I have only been bodybuilding for a short time, but I love to compete and won’t stop till I get noticed and become a pro.
Are you going to compete again? Have you already decided on a show or shows?
My next show will be National Championships in November. I want to add size and find the perfect prep for me to be a freaky Lightweight that makes mouths drop.
What’s your favorite body part to train? Least favorite?
Back and legs are my favorite, and I really dread cardio the most, but not a specific body part. Each body part I give 110%
Do you have a consistent playlist for when you’re working out?
Oh yeah, I listen to the same stuff all the time. For cardio, I watch Jay Cutler videos and catch MD Radio or PBW Radio.
Favorite cheat meal?
A burger and fries and donuts.
Do you have a strong support network for your training and nutrition planning?
I have only my wife Toni Maldonado and mother Tracy Braddock; those two are my back bone. Every decision I make is carefully drawn by the three of us. Two heads are better then one, but Three Heads make greatness. We form Team Dre Elite. For anyone looking to prep a athlete with drive and potential, I am available and looking!
What do you do for a living? How does your training and nutrition work around that?
I work at Autozone, and they understand my sport and allow me to eat as necessary. Working here gives two extremes either up extremely early or off extremely late. Being that I have a treadmill at my house morning cardio is not missed, and my gym is 24 hours so I make it to train any time and all the time I need to.
